dose anyone have any recommendations on what they like .....they just dont seem to eat anything... i have dyred krill and waffers and babybrine shrimp.. ive heard they filter feed i have no clue.... please post
Yes they are filter feeders, they will eat shrimp pellets, algae waefers, brine shrimp, blood worms, etc.. anything that is not very big or at least that breaks apart. They also are nocturnal so they mainly only eat at night with the lights off.
BTW.. just incase you did not know these are brackish water fish.
I've recently aquired a 4" dragon. Only tonight have I seen him eat anything. He was taking flake food at the surface! I think the key is to feed at night. They seem to have poor eyesight and must use scent to locate food. My fish seemed to snap fairly randomly at areas with floating flakes. With such a big mouth some is bound to go in!
I'm aware they are brakish fishes. Mine was in fresh water at the shop and is in fresh water at the moment. The water in this area is quite hard. As time goes on I intend to move him into more brakish conditions. Great aquarium fish. So active at night!
