Dream tank

my dream tank would use a 40gal as a QTtank. 8)
but i'd put acei cichlids in it. maybe yellow labs.
maybe peacocks.

The tank is definately a 40 gallon long, just not sure about the heigth measurement and didn't get a chance to measure it last night. The length is the most important measurement anyway because of the surface area and the territory issues that cichlids often have. So thats why I asked about a medium sized cichlid as I figured this tank would house one comfortably. I've kept many cichlids in the past so its nothing new to me. The premise of this thread was to spawn ideas of what kind of cichlid you would put in a tank this size and to sort of give me ideas of what to put in it. Just wondering if there is something different out there that I haven't seen before. Could be a cichlid, could be an oddball, could be a shoal of community fish as a species tank. Let your mind wonder and explore what you would want to put in this tank if its the only tank you could have! Doesn't have to be a cichlid, thats just what I initially was thinking of doing with it.
Before I knew better, I kept a single JD in a 20 show (30" long, taller/narrower than a 20long). He lived to the ripe old age of 11 despite one near-death carpet surfing incident. He was about 7" long when he finally kicked off. He was my very first FW fish (except for the ZDs I cycled the tank w/).

Everything commonly available and them some. SA/CA/AFRICAN/NA,etc. The point is not really what I want, its what everyone else has kept, would like to keep, or what you have always thougt of keeping but never did. I would just like to see what people have done or would like to do, then see where my interest goes from there. This is all just hypothetical, if nothing strikes my fancy I may just leave the tank empty at this point.
well i've done south american, and wouldn't mind restarting one of those. i haven't done african, and would definitely like to start one, and eventually one day i want to do a saltwater/reef right now i've got goldies and then a tropical tank.
