Driftwood and local rocks

i have recently bought some driftwood and on epiece has yet to sink.......i have been soaking it for 6 days so far.......what do i have to do? And for my next question i have collected some rocks from my local park and i am wondering what i have to do before putting them into my tank....I already scrubed them with a tooth brush to get all the dirt off them and i plan on soaking them in hot water. thanks.
