Driftwood hunt results.

WOW! Nice driftwood, when I go up to the Adirondacks I always look for driftwood......and that's what I look for but never find....(sigh)

Very nice pieces. Anyone ever used Driftwood from the ocean in their fish tanks ? reason i ask is that my Parents are coming out from British Columbia to see our newborn baby and if they could scoop some up for me that would be great i'm just worried about the salt it may have soaked up and how this would affect water prematures in a freshwater tank.

yes i have and im from BC, just soaked it a few times in boiling water, then let it dry out and rinsed it and put it in the tank. depending on the pieces they will leech tannis for longer periods then others, but i like the look of darken water
have the wood in my most loved fishes tank and there fine. and its been like 6 months.
i say ask your parents to find some.

i dont think the salt actually gets into the wood.
