I agree. I payed just under 40 dollars for 2 medium-sized pieces of malaysian driftwood, and BOY DOES IT LOOK GOOD IN MY TANK! If you happen to have the cash, its well worth it.
Our drift wood looks beautiful and once it was prepped before inserting has been fine, no tannis as of yet 7 months now, i may be mistaken but i thought some one said that at pet smart in the reptile section there was the same dw for allot less.........
I just bought a piece of malaysian wood about a week ago at Pet Land for $14.99, it is about 18 inches and has a very pretty shape to it. I did not think the price was that bad. I have a Dr's Foster & Smith catalog and they have wood in it for around $10.00.
One of my local stores--just across the river in Indiana--has driftwood the staff must assemble itself (this is not a chain store). I can get it for nearly 50% of what I pay at any chain store (on average $7-20).
