So I just brought home my new convicts, and while I was there I picked up a nice looking piece of driftwood, but now I'm left with the dilemma: How do I get it to stay at the bottom of the tank?

Soak the wood for a couple of day; once it gets water logged it will sink.
If it does not work get a flat slate rock and attach it to the slate rock … that will set down for sure..

Metal in the aquarium is not a good thing. I use aquarium silicon adhesive and glue a piece of slate to the bottom fo the driftwood. Also if you just soak it for 2 weeks weighted down in a bucket, it should sink. Could try boiling it too if its small.

I boiled it for about 2 hours, still wouldnt sink, but it got most of the brown crud out. I had a nice smooth stone, and it's balancing on the top of the driftwood, holding it down, it actually looks kind of cool, i'll try and get a pic if I can. The stone is heavy enough that it shouldn't be able to be knocked over at all.
