The lovely people at my LFS posted that driftwood actually improves water quality. I bought some from them and i was wondering how much does it improve water quality if at all?

I really don't think it improves water quality. I do have it in my tanks, and have found that the only really good way to insure water quality is to have a good water change schedule.

while driftwood may look good in your tank, will be appreciated by many species of plecostomus, 'may' slightly lower your pH and add tannic colors to your water (depending on your water chemistry), it will do absolutely nothing for your water quality.
