If you can't find something branchy, you can always use additional pieces positioned vertically (or rather, tucked under a "base" piece, and leaning up against the back and/or side walls of the tank) to create the same effect. Cover the "seam" with substrate, or substrate and little wood fragments, and it'll look great.
