Driving Test

Make sure to do all your signalling, and check your shoulder when changing lanes and when pulling out from the curb. Keep your speed at least a few miles per hour under the posted limit. Remeber yout left from your right.

Speeding is speeding in the eyes of the law. Your individual instructor can be tough or nice but it is best to assume he/she is mean and err on the side of caution.

And they can technically fail you if they don't think you are ready as well. They have that sort of power.

I'll tell you what I was told to remember when I took my test... umm, years ago. Stay slightly under the speed limit. Obey all signs. If you do not understand an instruction, ask the person to repeat it nicely. "Huh?" or "What?" are not acceptable. Simply say, "I'm sorry, could you repeat that please?" or "Beg Pardon?" Take your foot off of the accelerator and cover the brake (meaning just have your foot over it, not on the peddle) at intersections, especially when other vehicles are waiting at them. Yield to pedestrian traffic. Signal every turn, every lane change and if they make you parallel park. Utilize your mirrors and for goodness sakes, look right, left, right when you need to. Really, it's all commons sense stuff. Drive like there was a cop behind you and you couldn't aford a ticket.

I agree with Harlock. Remember to check your blind spots when changing lanes, parking, on-off ramps, turning, etc... I just recently past . Also the instructor took off points because i forgot to put on turning signal when leaving parking spot.Be confident, you'll do fine.
Good luck

Remember to adjust your mirrors and lock the doors and put on the seatbelt. And be good at going in reverse - remember to actually turn and look and not rely solely on your rear view mirror.

Be prepared to parallel park.

Leave plenty of space between yourself and the car in front of you! When I was in driver's ed, I think the "suggested" rule was one car length of space between you and the car in front of you for every 10mph that you are driving. Ie, if you are going 40mph, leave 4 car lengths of space. This is presumably to make sure that your view isn't obstructed and that you have time to react if something goes awry with the car in front of you.

Good luck.
