we had a stupid law like that in alberta (now you have to be 18 to smoke in a public place, because pretty much the only public place you can smoke in here is a bar)... i remember this because of the "smoking area" at our school. it is illegal for a minor to buy cigarettes, and it is illegal to give a minor cigarettes, but if you were over 16, you were allowed to smoke cigarettes. never made sense to me. it's weird having the legal age at 21 in the states, its only 18 here, and when i go down there, and i still cant go into bars, even though i have been going to them here for 2 years... it just feels, weird.
