I brought home a new angelfish today.
I had a paper bag containing the plastic bag containing the fish, like you do.
Standing in the kitchen, the paper bag suddenly ripped and the fish bag hit the floor and ruptured.
I looked down and there was the angelfish on the kitchen floor. I scooped him up in my bare hands and ran to my tank and dropped him in. So much for getting him acclimated!

I think he is OK, I am keeping an eye on him.

I almost bought ten black neons. They would have been fun to pick up off the floor!

that suuuucks. i hope he survives the incident alright. =/

That so bites!!! I dropped a bag once but lucky for me (or the fish) it never ruptured and no harm to the fish. Scoop up neons? No thanks, I'll pass on that one. I think 52 card pick-up would be easier. lol.

Good luck with the fish!

Good luck with your fish, that happened to me once, only it was on the front steps and I had a blenny and a goby that poured out into the garden. Fortunately after much crawling around under the steps they were rescued and put right into the tank. They both survived I am happy to say. Hope you have as much good luck with yours.

Fallen Angel...lol.. it should be fine, GL

Thanks to all the well-wishers, I'll keep you posted on his condition. :-)

That sucks. I know you must have freaked out.
Have the LFS double-bag your fish from now on.
