DROPSY!!!-Oh NOOOO

hmmm hes not that bad yet..i hope its just a bloated problem... Makai was my first betta ever! i really dont wanna lose him...

Dropsy is a symptom, not a disease. It is fluid in the abdomen and/or in the muscle tissues. I can be a late symptom of kidney infection or failure, or of liver toxicity or failure, or of an infectious septicemia.

You would have to know what the underlying disease is and treat that, but several of the causes are not treatable.

*sigh* He Passed last night... at around 1:30 in the am he was ripping around the betta bowl then he just stopped and he was gone.... Im kinda bummed out...

I'm sorry BG.

I know what it's like to lose a first fish.

Good luck on everything else you do though.

thanx guys... Im hoping i dont have a problem with Dropsy ever again its the worst... i had him for 2 years and he was my first betta. And even though im only 13yrs old i still really know alot about bettas. Anywayz im thinkin about breeding my Blue delta tail with my dads female....

yup. i Have indeed, im still hoping none of my current bettas get it, also my chocolate betta has been isolated because he looks like hes got a fungus on his top fin, its not comming out like sticking out yet but he looks like its starting to grow.
