Drowning in an algae nightmare!

Would the hydrogen peroxide treatment with a dose of 1 mL a day work in a saltwater tank dealing with a green hair algae breakout? The only inhabitant is a B&W clown fish and stupid GHA.

That might be a better question for the SW forums. I don't see how it would hurt but who knows...

nice site thanks! (oops, in reference to the plantedtank-uk site)

Hope the battle is still going well! If they plants don't make a recovery (especially the blyxa) I can always give you more. :)

get some snails imo!
i'd look into getting a couple nerites so you don't have unwanted breeding. I'd go for a chinese algae eater for the hair like algae. A friend had that and bought a pair of the golden ones, within 2 weeks, it was all clean and the fish grew from 3" to 6"

But if you are putting in any chemicals to get rid of the algae, then i have no idea. Not sure if inverts can handle that stuff.

The battle is kind of at a stand still right now. I know the problem & have a good idea of how to cure it ( I hope!) just need a few days to run new plumbing is all. :) The amanos are doing some damage though! They have all the substrate cleaned, yay!

I took the blyxa out today and did a through cleaning. While I had it out I was amazed out how many side shoots there were!

I want snails in this tank but I have to wait till I get better idea of what is going on with the co2/ph/buffer relationship. If the ph has to be at 6.0 to get decent co2 levels I wouldn't put any snails in. Hopefully the new water will be better and snails will definitely be added!

I have a carbon filter hooked up to the raw water line, just need to install the rest of the plumbing and the new water will be on it's way up!

I got my drop checker, made 4dkh solution and gave it overnight to adjust (started out blue of course) and according to it there is adequate CO2 in the water. 1st thing in the morning it is blue, within 30 mins it is green and at night right after the lights & co2 go off it is even yellow.

Algae is still living on! I even have a new type of algae now making for a total of 6 minimum types of algae. :(

Here is my immediate problem....I am going away for 2 weeks. What do you suggest I do with this tank? I currently have the lights turned down to just 1 55 bulb as Tom suggested, co2 comes on & goes off with the lights, lights are on from 11:30-3:15, 3:45-6:45, 7:15-9:30 total of 9hrs & I dose before lights come on EI style (but I will not have anyone to do WCs while I am gone).
