drsfostersmith/liveaquaria? quality/info and buying online

if u do the WUSIWUG section u can pick the fish out...but that section is very overly priced...but it is hand picking.

oooh! where can i find that section? i don't remember seeing it?

and sorry for my mistake earlier - i honestly thought i remembered that from those instructions that were included.

oh, and we also enjoyed the tracking. we kept checking online where our fish were :)

very beautiful fish! didn't see any FW tho (not sure that would have mattered at a lot of those prizes! ).

Thanks!

Very nice WUSIWUG section. It doesn't help the FW aquariasts though.
They really should allow customers to atleast choose genders of the fish. I keep livebearers, so I don't know much about others, but gender is very important if you want to keep aggression down. That makes ordering from this store not an option.

Dr. Foster & Smith have been in business for a very long time. It was 20 years ago when I received a mail order catalog from them. I don't know how long they were in business prior to that. It was for dog and cat supplies. I think it was about 5 years ago that they aquired Pet Warehouse mail order. That was when they started selling fish supplies. They have come a long way with their catalog. I am happy to see that they attempt to educate the consumer with the many articles they supply in the catalog.

They have always offered supreme customer service, even during the transition from Pet Warehouse to Dr F&S. I have ordered stuff from them that was not in their catalog. If I needed a part for something, they got me in touch with the right people. If my light bulbs did not work, they immediatly sent me new ones - no charge.

Liveaquaria has been no different for me. They have been offering mail order fish for about 3 years now but their service is still evolving. I ordered 50 Cardinal tetras. I lost some of them a couple of days after they arrived. They refunded the money for the lost fish. I called them up, told them how many died and they refunded that amount. No hassels. But that was my only experience with that thus far. Usually my LFS can get me whatever I need. It was only when every shipment of Cardinals she would get in would die, I decided to try Dr F&S.

Good luck to you in your quest for the perfect mail order fish.
