we have a sticky at the top of our planted section also.
there should be a link there also with a recipe for diy root tabs if you're interested. they seem to work a lot better than pre made for me.

slappymcfish posted a perfect starter kit for ferts. i get mine from aquariumfertilizer.com because i'm cheap and pretty good with math and they carry barr's gh booster. btw, amazingly enough my water main was ripped up and ammonia now pours out of my tap so the gh booster came in really handy.

anyway the package at greenleaf costs twice as much to ship and they give you 1/2lb portions of the more expensive 2 to keep the costs down. i think with shipping if i remember correctly you pay like $2 more and get like $8 more product at aquariumfertilizer.com. they're usually pretty quick with shipping too.

Thanks you guys, time to start reading /learning :)

I'm using this overview

I started dosing EI 2wks ago, so I'm new to it like you. I'm using premixed solution in empty hand sanitizer bottles (from work) they're 236ml, but thats close enough to 250ml to me. Pumps around about 1ml pumps. A word of advice, make sure to mix your trace/plantex very very slowly. I added powder then water and it caked up threw the bottle out. I added water then slowly... added the plantex and it worked out alot better. Goodluck

I have a polystyrene cup and a 1/8 tsp measurer from an old breadmaker. I put some tank water in the cup, mix in the dry ferts and pour them in. No bottles, no stock solutions, nice and easy.
