Does anyone have any ideas on some sand sifting organisms that won't harm all of the DSB critters? My tank is 55g with a 5" sand bed and I am noticing that where it is against the glass is all turning brown and I see small bubbles coming up from the sand.

Thanks

I was thinking of a larger invert, but I am open to suggestions. All I have in there is a occellarus clown, so my options are fairly open.

Nassarius snails are great for keeping the top 1/2" turned and white. They're a blast to watch too.

The so-called sand sifter stars, Archeaster sp. (I think that's how you spell it) are an excellent choice. They turn it over very slowly, keeping it stirred without churning it up too much.

Sand sifter stars will eat other organisms in the sandbed. I would look elsewhere.
