Just purchased a 75 Gallon Tank to replace my 55 gallon. I had a Fluval 405 on the 55, and the 75 came with a Eheim 2217. I want to use both on the 75, and would like some insight as to where to place the intake and outputs for both.

Should the intakes be place on either end? If so, which direction should the outputs expel the water?

This is a planted tank, so are two canisters too much?? Thanks for your insight!

I would sugest putting both intakes on one side and both exhust on the other. This makes a nice flow almost like a river effect.

I have a XP-2& XP-3 on a 65H. Intakes on right/w xp2 intake 1 extension tube shorter than thexp3. Both returns on left/w xp3 on spray bar across end glass(angeled 45deg.down)& xp2/w short nozzel strait across back.

personally i would put the intakes centered on the tank and the outputs at either end pointed at 45 degrees

I'm running two Eheim 2236's on a 40g. The intakes & outlet jet nozzles are on the corners. Each nozzle is pointed to the front center at 45 degrees. This setup creates a nice swirling flow.
