Dual Tank System Build Thread

Very well done! Really looking forward to seeing this come together.

Sorry for the delays folks. We had some very unexpected bad news recently (My wifes father died suddenly, at 58 and healthy) and that pretty much put a stop to the work for awhile obviously.

I have finished some of the plumbing through the walls, and am hoping to have that almost totally done this weekend.

I also received the first of the two Oceans Motions devices I will need and so I am ready to plumb the closed loop as well. However I need to figure out how to plumb the Eheim pump I bought (almost totally silent btw) for the closed loop as it uses metric fittings. I have some ideas.

Also have an electrician coming to run new circuits to the equipment soon.

So I will post some pics after this weekend and hopefully we'll get this project done.

I'm sorry to hear about your wife's dad also. Death is a terrible thing.

We look forward to your updates, after you family get's its feet back on the ground.

Ok, an update finally. The first tank is nearly ready for water (probably next weekend I'll start cycling).

The equipment cabinet basically complete. All the plumbing is done (but not leak tested). The sump has been tested (in a loop) and works great. Also I am currently using the tank on top for my refills.

Here is the first of the faux rock walls. I plan on coating the foam with a layer of concrete just to protect it a bit. Looks great in the tank, I'll get some pics of that soon.

And tank 1 itself. All i have left to do is put the overlow system together and it's ready to go.

Anyway, made a ton of progress the last few weeks. Excited to get it running!
