I'm going to attempt this with a 55g. My Sweety has been after me for a while about one. I am now keeping almost 600g of "green" water tanks. From my research I believe I can do the salt thing. The money aspect has always slown me down. Well, I'm going to do this, I will try to keep this updated with expenses and labor. All based on a very limited budget. As we all know it will be slow for a month or so...I'll keep updating here. Wish me luck!:)

Good luck with the marine tank! I've always found them to be a great way to spend time and relax.

Welcome ^^

Just wanted to add a few things that I forgot/learned the past year when I started my tank.

Refugium/sump (doubt you need it if no fish)

NO Crushed Coral as a bed, I didn't learn about this til after I joined forum, and am having a hell of a time.

If wanting fish, wait til you have an abundance of copepods and other critters living in the tank, before you start adding.

A simple floresent light just dosen't cut it for things to grow properly, even in a FOWLR tank(I've now identified quite a bit that need proper lighting that came with my live rocks). 50/50 ftw.
