dumb questoin.

if i want to put sand in a new tank. how do i do water changes and vac the bottom. i thought that it would stur things up and make the water cloudy for a while until the sand was setaled. how do you take care of the sand. just want to know so i can plan my next tank.

sand will keep waste on top. use a siphon to get your normal amount of water out for a change and just get close to the waste. if you slant the scape forwards from the back it will all tend to stayt right in front for easy cleaning

Yup, just swishing the vac close to the surface of the sand will suck the waste right up.
