dumbest question ever!

Baby oil or any other mineral oil, and a credit card, and of course, a whole lotta time lol. I start by taping one side, smoothing on some oil all over (pain in the butt if you have animals, because then you gotta be extra careful not to get pet hair in there) sticking it on there, flatening it with the credit card, then taping the remaining edges when I feel ive gotten out all the bubbles to the best of my ability. And you will never get them ALLLLL out. Most but doubtfully all unless you are a heck of alot more persistant then I. :D

When I used plastic backgrounds, I used Vaseline to keep it on. Apply a layer on the background or the tank and squeegie or using a credit card, start pasting it on..... the good part is it's easy to work with when needing to move it around.

I just cut mine to fit the back of the tank and tape down the edges...I can't see the tape unless I'm looking for it, and it seems to work for me. Although, I did a bad measuring job when I set up my last tank and it really needs improvement

LOL! Not a stupid question, just someone finally had nerve enough to ask!

Like the article said, I find it easiest if you cut it to size length-wsie and then stick it up underneath the top trim edge until it 'sticks' into place. Then use the baby oil/mineral oil very sparingly to coat the rest of the aquarium or background and carefully use a credit card or like as a squeegee to flatten it out.

Once it is trimmed to fit the tank, it looks pretty good. I have also found that if you don't tuck it up into the top edge lip, it will eventually start to sldie down the tank.

If it's a larger tank, it can be even more fun to have your partner help out with the baby oil!! ;)

Good luck,
