My tank water has lots of "dust" floating around in it... not sure what it is and the water isn't cloudy but you can see a lot of little specks floating around... any idea what it might be? I was gonna just add some filter floss to clear it up, wondering what it is though.

your run A/C. Is there any type of work going on near your place. Do you have really hard water that It could be sediment from the pipes. Theres a bazillion things it could be. Toss some floss into a filter and extract it or if the tank isnt havily stocked shut everything off for awhile let the dust settle and do a gravel vac water change.

I don't think it really is dust, it's too big to be dust. I do have air conditioning, and only medium hardness water( alk. 100ppm, gh 175 if I rebember right

no work is going on around here. they're perfectly round as far as I can tell, they look like ultra-tiny air bubbles that don't float.

Probably just air bubbles, little pieces of food/decaying matter or indeed little specks of dust. Unless it is clouding the tank, it is probably nothing to be concerned about:)
