Dwarf cichlids for 37 gal tank

Haha!!

If not adding apistos, can I get more than a pair or rams or are they vicious when you do that?

I think you should have at least a 30" long tank for 2 pairs of rams. You would be fine if that's the case, but I don't think you have room as the tank is extra high. I'd go with apistos as the rams should only go after them when spawning.

I actually like the term GBR, though if you don't completely understand the context of the term it can be confusing. GBR's are different that wild blue's or domestic blues. To me domestic blues are derived from wilds and GBR's are the strain that was taken to Germany from wild stock and was selectively bred and it seems to have more/better coloration than either wild or domestic blues. The term "GBR" has become a common name and I know what you are saying, but how many Irish setters, or English/French bulldogs do you think have actually seen those countries after which they are named? It's a strain thing to me, simple as that. It helps to describe the lineage of the fish.

I agree. True German blue rams don't have to come from Germany directly. They are just the descendants of German-bred lines. I love when people claim to have wild-caught "German" blue rams.

Another good dog breed example-Australian shepherds. The breed didn't even originate in Australia, but in the US, bred by Australian immigrants
