Dwarf Frog Feeding Help...in "big tank"

maybe this reply is a bit outdated, but.. i had 2 of those frogs i kept in my betta's 1/2 gallon tank, and i fed them sinking newt and aquatic frog food (jurassi-diet). I put them into the 18 gallon one, and every 2 days, dumped in a bunck of the pellets.. they sank, and my fish pretty much leave the pellets alone. they will find them eventually, and if they dont eat them all, my pleco and my snail will pick up the rest. they also seem to enjoy eating any food caught up in plants, or any fish flake food that has sunk to the bottom.

Mine wont' touch the shrimp pellets unless they have to.

I have their feeding schedule as a bonding experience:D I feed them by a syringe or tweezers - one blood worm at a time.

If I'm really pressed for time, I just throw the bloodworms in. Luckily, the fish in this tank don't mess with the frog's food that much.

My vote is always to target feed using something like bloodworms as a staple.

hehe.. just.. as an afternote; make sure you open the *correct* cap.. just 3 minutes ago, i opened up the cap, and shook a little out.. i look over into the tank, there's this big brown mass floating at the top of the tank.. OH NO! i just dumped about 2/3 months worth of food into the the tank. i stared in horror as hundreds of little pellets spread over the surface of the tank, and all of a sudden, they all started coming down. i ran into the bathroom, and grabbed my fishnet, and was waving it around in the water like a madwoman, trying to catch them. i had actually caught great amout of them, then.. they all flew out of the net at once. so... just be more observant than me, k?

I drop in sinking food (frozen food, shrimp pellets, etc) in 3 seperate places, but always the same 3 places when I see my frog moving around. If he is hungry he goes and gets food. He only eats every couple of days. If a clown loach should happen by, he stands up and waves his front legs in the water, and the loaches leave him alone! FYI - the only fish I have ever had a problem with was the platys, it was like every time they saw the frog the had to go investigate, it scared him half to death.
