My Bat Cave somwhere in TX
I was looking at dwarf frogs they look pretty cool swimming around. What size tank you need for them? What fish can you have them with?

about 2.5 gallons per frog. they like company so the minimum is 2 in a 5 gallon. i prefer a species only tank. theyre hard to feed and you see them more this way. good tankmates are mid to top dwellers that are slow eaters. bettas can be good tankmates but must be docile. too small of a fish can be eatin. a good diet is the amphibian food at petsmart that i forget the name of (haha) just look it up on there site (some wont eat these), frozen bloodworms (ocassionally), and frozen brine shrimp. make sure to have a tight lid but also make sure they can get to the top to breath. i like reptile lids with the top cut to fit the filter snug. i have a 10 with 2 right now i plan on getting 2 more but new adfs must be quarentined for a minimum of 3 months bc of a highly contagious fungus.

I have ADF in a community tank without any issues. The tank mates are a bunch of different tetras, including neon, and danios mainly. I've kept ADF in the past with DG also with no problems.

I solve the feeding issues by putting the frogs' frozen blood worms in a small cup which I burrow into the gravel on it's side. The fish are busy pigging out at the surface and the frogs and cory cat find their worms just fine.

Just my experience.

My tank is about 80° maybe 85° I don't see how they would be able to eat my fish because of how small the frog is. How can you tell if the frog is healthy? I have a little 3.83g tank but it has no filter or heater. How big do they get?

It just occurred to me that allaboutfish may have been referring to African Clawed Frogs. I don't know anything about those.

They recommend 1 gallon per frog min. for the dwarfs but I'm not sure on the temp thing. I keep my tank at around 76-78. I'm pretty sure I'd get a heater and filter if you use the 3.83, but I've read they are happier with company as opposed to alone. The females get 1.5 inches and the males 1 inch.

They are a lot of fun to watch. Very goofy sometimes.

no im talking about african dwarf frogs. if a fish is small enough the frog will eat it. such as cpds. i dont think they can eat neon tetras. 1 gallon is wayyyy to small for 1 adf and 2 need a 5 gallon. 1 wont be happy. you will have to make sure your adfs get food.

you probably wont be able to tell if the adfs have the fungus in the store. you only have to quarentine new frogs if you have excisting frogs. i think you should add 3 more neon tetras and call your tank stocked.

ill give you some care sheets and breeding guides tomorrow along with a pic of my adf tank. theyre really great to keep you just have to be careful bc theyre almost blind so its hard to feed them.
