Dwarf Gourami Breeding

Hello

I am new to this forum and very excited about having other aquatic hobbyists to share with. I have a pair of Dwarf Gouramis in one of my tanks that are likely going to breed in the next day or so and I am wondering about feeding the Fry. We were told by someone at the aquarium store that this would be very difficult due to their size and she recommended vinegar eel (I have never heard of this), but she cautioned that it would take about a month to culture. Since the fry hatch within 24 hours there is a timeing problem with this type of food. Any advice/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Grow live brine shrimp. They are small enough for the fry to eat, and they hatch in less than 24 hours. Easy and fun

vinegar eels,mocro worm, and baby brine shrimp are good things to feed these babies..you should deffinetly wait until you have strong cultures of each before you breed them.
how do you know they are going to breed?
what size tank are they in?

THanks for the advice - brine shrimp it is in the short term.

Bettagurl, They were showing breeding signs while in the community tank (testing each other with their feelers, chasing and displaying and the male changed to include his mating "beard" black colouring from mouth through tip of anal fin) so I moved them to a 10 G by themselves. The male is building and has built a nest a few times over the last few days, but it doesn;t seem as if the female is quite ready, although she still flirts with him. I have had blue gouramis breed before, but never dwarfs.

In your post you mention a good culture, did you mean of the brine shrimp or other foods, or the quality of the Gourami pair?
