Yes, weening to prepared food got to be too much of a pain and i spent too much money experimenting.

Instead, with my new lion fish, i tried enriching ghost shrimp and guppies with various foods to enhance their healthiness over the course of three weeks. The cool thing with ghost shrimps and guppies is that its easy to see when they are full. With ghost shrimps, you see the food through them. when the weekly feeding comes, i isolate three and extra load them, then send them to their doom. hehe.

Just want any opinions and i want to know if the "bad" fat of the guppies will still play a negative roll on my Dwarf lion. THough the meal plan is repetetive, i assume the varried foods also help play a role.

Thought's? Ideas? opinions?

SO despite the enriched diet and lifestyle compared to "over the counter guppies", their "bad fats" are still an issue?
i know the shrimp are good in protien and calcium + the enriched foods.

At the LFS where I work I've had limited success weening dwarf lions over to prepared foods (marine silversides, etc.). It'll take patience and effort but it is well worth your time. As Grins said, freshwater fish for marine animals is not a good idea.

I started on guppies too but now, mine eats anything that is moving in the water column.

I got him to take 2 krills today

I honestly didnt think he would take it, cause it was originally intended for my new eel, but my lion INSISTED on chasing after it first. Maybe its because the lights were off, or maybe it was the fact that the gut-loaded ghost shrimp i fed him activated his "killer-intent" but now he has a taste for prepared food.
