Dwarf neon rainbows in a 6 gal Eclipse?

Is there enough room in a 6 gal Eclipse for 3 dwarf neon rainbows?
A pet peeve of mine is the pictures of 7 or 8 goldfish or large gouramis in the sales brochures for one of these small tanks.

The tank will be moderately planted and contain only the 3 fish, many Maylasian trumpet snails, and 3 Amano shrimp. It is an old tank, well cycled and all parameters in good range.

What are the dimensions of this tank? I have seven praecox in a 110 and they are all over the place. Very active, so while the tank can support the bio load I am not sure the fish would be comfortable.

Hm...Unless you mean Neon Tetras, I wouldn't know what your talking of, I don't know Rainbowfish very well, but I've heard they are very interesting! Sorry you ahven't gotten any firther replies, neither have I!!! Sorry I couldn't have helped you as much as I wish I could have!

Hm...I did some research on Dwarf Neon Ranbows, and I really like them! how many of them can fit in a 10 Gal? If Dwarf Neon Rainbows can grow up to around 1.5-2 inches, I'd say 3 would be fine. That number is according to the basic "rules" an inch of fish per gallon, you would have just met your mark. But according to actual facts, if the Dwarf Neon Rainbows would mind the small tank? I couldn't answer you, I am not that knowledgable yet. But as for the Dwarf Neon Rainbows, I am going to look into them. They sounds pretty interesting, expecially for kind of tank I'm going for. So that's hwat it boild down to. Dwarf Neon Rainbows, or the basic school of Neon Tetras. Oh the decisions we ahve to make.

I'd say that you'd be fine with (3) dwarf rainbows in that tank. Just keep up with your water changes, don't overfeed, and you'll be fine.

i think 3 would be fine in a 10g. i have 7 in my 55g right now. they are really beautiful in the morning light. from what ive read about them, they spawn in the morning and theyre fun to watch as well as most colorful at this time. good luck with them if you get some.

They wouldn't be too big or too dirty for the tank, but do consider M praecox is a fast swimmer that really would be happier with more room, and in a larger group than 3.

I had 7 in a 33 gallon (3 feet long) and they made the tank look small sometimes

Thanks to all for your replies. I have been persuaded to stick to neon tetras - the dwarf neon rainbows would feel cramped even if they could survive.
I want happy fish, not just live fish!

Or maybe a few White Cloud Moountain Minnows...hmmmm

Consider bleeding heart tetras. I had a planted eclipse 6 with 5 blooding hearts. They were the brightest, happiest of their kind I have ever seen. Due in part I'm sure to a daily 1 gallon water change with spring water.
