......Shes dead.

I got home from work. Turned the light on in the 55g. ANd i look in the breeder box. She is lying dead on the bottom. :(

She was fine last night...that i knew of.

ammo: 0
Nitrate: 5.0
Nitrite: 0
Ph: 7

I have no clue what could have caused this. THe male platty is still doing perfectly fine. As are all my other fish.

ONly thing i could think of would be stress. She has been in the box for 2 weeks.

I have feed her like i feed all my fish, Once every other day.

Any ideas?

Well, from what I've heard platys aren't the longest lived fish in the world...

Thats how I found both of my mollies at different times. Got home from work and found them dead with baby fish in the tank doing great. I assumed it was the stress that killed her.

Sad. Well from the responces i guess it isnt my fault?

I guess i wont be having any fry like i had hoped :(

There are all sorts of reasons that she might have died, but I never put females in breeder boxes anymore. They can become very stressed I small spaces. And because you can see through the box (mesh or plastic) the other fish can pick at the box and add to the stress of the mother. When about to give birth females are often harassed.
