Didn't get to my camera in time, but my male DP puffed this afternoon. I was about an hour late in feeding. I watched them beg for a bit, then went and thawed some bloodworms, came back, and had a heart attack at this mini-balloon bobbing in the tank. I don't think he was puffed fully (or was already de-puffing when I got there), because he wasn't completely round. He deflated pretty quickly. I guess he was having a tantrum or something over not being fed!

He seems okay, color is good and he ate really well afterwards. He's still begging as usual if I walk by the tank. I read over on the puffer forum they sometimes puff like that if the schedule is interupted. I'll keep a close eye on him though.

hmm, I have yet to see my dp's puff. I would think they'd look adorable, but as DD said, it's stressful for them. Obviously, a puffing puffer is not a happy one.

As for puffing if their schedule is altered, that sounds kinda diva-ish :) Glad mine aren't so bossy :p:

As long as it didn't take in air it should be ok. Puffers have been known to practice puffing up, but usually it's a defense mechanism. As DD said, probably got spooked.
