Dwarf Puffer tank mates?

I've kept DPs with pygmy cories, and australian desert gobies. also unintentionally some RCS when I missed transferring out all the babies. FWIW, 2 baby RCS made it to full adulthood without being eaten. As a test I dropped in a dead RCS and it did get eaten, so I guess the little guys were just fast enough to stay away!

Having puffers in a community seems to be about the same as having female bettas.. sometimes, it is all fine. But then sometimes there is nipping and death.. total guessing game.

Think I might think on it a while longer before moving her.. I was hoping not to have the 5 gallon running just cuz I aleady have a lot of tanks for a small apartment.. but.. my little Leo the Puffer was a TOTAL impulse buy (for some women, it's shoes. For some, it's a little vicious attack fish ;)

Hmm.. I sure hope little Leo's belly will not go explody on all the snails! I DID have a fish do that recently (a danio overate bloodworms.. so sad).. but so far my puffer seems okay, there's even still a few snails that have stayed alive in her 5 gallon for a few weeks, although I think it is cuz they are to big for her!

Aah.. fishy conundrums!

I have 3 female DP with 2 albino corys&3 ottos in a 12gal. They have been together for 3 months with no problems. (SO FAR)

Not having a male in the tank will help as far as agression, but I've seen my females get into it too.

loaches work with brazillian puffers, but im not sure about dwarf puffers.
i dont know much about dwarf puffers, but i can assume that their small, so bettas aren't good tankmates. the puffer will nip at its fins and might end up a little beat up itself, because bettas are aggressive, and ive kept a male betta with tetras before and i woke up one morning to find a beheaded tetra floating on the top of the tank.

Hey Ara, I have read of DP's being fine in community tanks on different discussion boards. In accordance to what others have said, I think it just might work out for some and not so well for others. I had 2 gardneri killifish that people thought would be fine in a community tank, but they tore up the fins of all other fish in the tank. Even though they were so cool, I had to take them back.
