I originally bought one male Dwarf Gourami and slowly added two females in a 10 gallon tank to breed them. One female died so I bought another. Then I bought another Male since nothing was going on in the tank. The original mail picked on the new one so much that he died. The females tried to protect him but it didn't work. Now for a week the mail would not eat. This morning I found him dead at the bottom of the tank.
Does anyone have an idea why he died. Should I take out the two females, clean out the tank saving some of the water, put the females back and buy another Male.

Two male dwarf gourami's should never be placed in the same aquarium. It is similar to have two male betta's. The second male may have died after he exhausted himself fighting the first gourami.

He may also have died cause he was a dwarf gourami. Sometimes them things just don't need a reason.
