Dying fish...=(

So this may sound grotesque, but im sitting here watching my fish die, he/she is floating upside down, and was fine just 8 hours ago. i hate this. what do you do? leave it to die? put it out of its misery? flush it? i dont know what to do, i just hate sitting here watching it, but i cant sleep. i feel so bad. i know if it was my dog i wouldnt let it suffer like this.

i spoke with some ppl in the freshwater forum under "tiger barbs dying" or something like that. got some good advice but dont know what else i can do since its the middle of the night. now its getting sucked into the filter so i turned it off. ugh i hate this. how do you all handle this?
 
ok it just stopped breathing. its dead. man ive been nursing this fish for hours. even have a fricken heat blanket wrapped around the tank. never actually witnessed the exact moment a fish died. i suck. im gonna wait an hour just incase it comes back, before i flush it. gawd this hobby is great yet painful.
 
awwww baby i feel your pain my female betta died last night i tried my best to save it but it just gave up on me. :girl: i get so attatched to my fish

Yeah... it's so rough when you get attatched. Even worse when it's a particularly precious or valuable specimen AS WELL as being your fav lil' tank buddy. ; _ ; I feel your pain, man.
