DYING GOBY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you're not going to keep the fish in proper conditions, you probably shouldn't keep the fish. You said you've been having health problems with the one goby, which I would guess is mostly due to not being kept in brackish conditions. I would have to assume the second one will not be far behind if you don't get it set up properly.

yeah i try to avoid salt but if thats what it will take to get him back up. now the big tank im not gonna salt. i just cant afford all that salt for my tank. the stuff on him has to be some kind of fungus bcuz its white fuzzy lookin stuff on his body. ill see what i can find on it. also hes quit eating again. i checked on my other goby(only comes out at night now) and hes very active swims alot when lights are out and is a food hog/

its not that salt will help him get better, its that salt is what he needs to LIVE. PERIOD. for the rest of his life.

Well to kill the fungus you need to add aquarium salt, not marine salt. You need to add marine salt later to make the tank brackish. But as for the fungus it will disapear with aquarium salt and heat.

hmm. thats not good. making the tank brakish will essentially kill off all my other fish. is there a way that i can add some salt for him to live but not kill of the others

if i cant do bw or add salt. what should i do with the goby.

Bring it to a store that keeps brackish fish, or give/sell it to someone with a brackish tank.

i dont know any one that runs brakish and i know the store i got it from (petsmart, i dont think they much about fish there!)doesnt run bw. but maybe the family owned lfs would do it although she doesnt have any bw tanks.
