I traded in my RT over the weekend and have a store credit at my lfs, I have purchased 2 6 inch earth eaters and wanted some advise as to tank mates. I tried looking for campatability charts on line but could not find anything? Does anyone here have any suggestions? I read that any "larger South American cichlids" would make good mates-?

Any help/suggestions is greatly appreciated. :look:

there are quite a number of "earth eaters". which species do YOU have and what size tank are they in. the answers to these questions will help determine what other fish might be compatible with your new fish.

RE: Earth Eater

Satanoperca jurupari-to be exact I have 2 of them in a 90 gallon tank.

severums, firemouths, nicaraguense, or basically any "peaceful" cichlid of similar size.

ETA: more geos would be their best tankmates.

what do you mean by geos? I thought Firemouths were aggressive?

thanks for the info

are they definately jurupari as many are mislabelled leucistica.
anyway eartheaters are one of my favourite fish i love the whole geo complex.
