Eartheaters for a 25 gallon

I always like to watch these guys (geophagus) in the LFS's are there any that can go in a 25 gallon 24"L x 12"W x 20"H. Is the tank too short? Do the need to be in a pair? In one book I have it shows 2 species that need 100-200gal so I think those are out. If not which cichlids would be good? Is there any other small cichlid under 4" that picks up sand, gravel or other objects? want some thing that is fun to watch.

I like Rams, Shell dwellers(are there others besides Neolamprologus brevis?), Kribs, Cockatoo, Key holes, Red flag cichlid Laetacara dosigera seems I like the more peaceful specie(s) (may want to add community fish later.) Thanks all.....

youd probably be able to do a pair of cupids in it.. maybe a few corys along with them

what can you tell me about them? in book is says 37gallon pair forming up to 5.25",32 inch long tank needed, I could pick out a pair at the store maybe
 
I don't like a 25g for a pair of geos. Considering they grow to 6 inches or more, consider a length of 3 feet and width of 18 inches. This is my opinion,of course. I've kept Geophagus brasiliensis and would have considered a 4ft minimum although 3 feet will suffice.
 
Yeah I think the Geos are out. So what can I put in this 25g/ Are there any other SA cichlids that pick up gravel? And are small.
 
rams are technically eartheaters (or at least they were - not sure if it is still the same) because their genus name is/was Microgeophagus - small earth-eater. might not really be what you are looking for, and of course you would need a small substrate if you want them to move it around.
 
I agree with rams (did they get moved from Microgeophagus?)...especially bolivian rams - unless you can get good locally bred blue rams (the imports seem much weaker).

How about the cockatoos and kribs are they ok for a 25g? Feel free to suggest others
