I got a python recently and my 2 hour + water change (+ included for the mop action after the change for the inevitable spillage) turned into about 20 minutes on my 55gal
Just curious, wouldn't the chlorine from the tap kill the fish? My guess is you probably add seachem prime or whatever after the change, but is prime really that effective, and that quick that none of the fish get hurt?
yes, if you add a drop or two of Prime directly to the tank after a water change it neutralized chlorine and chloramines instantaneously. what weakens fish/inverts during a water change is the stress of temperature fluctuations, major debris & detritis disturbances, or the rapidity and tank volume percentage of the change itself.
I add it as the water is going into the tank. I have to say I love my python. You just have to make sure all connections are very tight. I saw someone mention they had leak problems, just keep it tight. Big time cutter!

Chlorine doesn't instantly kill fish. I drain all of my tanks (dozens), dose them all with water conditioner, then refill them all. Never have a problem. Also I use an el cheapo basic garden hose as an extension.
