I think I spent about $16 for a 50 foot 1/2 inch hose, the hose ends and the shutoff valve. Another $5 for the big bucket.

I am not sure if this has been mentioned. But you could buy a "self-priming drill pump" Basically if you already own a drill this pump has an axel that fits where the drill bit goes, and on the other end there are hose attachments for intake and outake.

I don't know how much they are in the US but I have seen them in Canada for about $10. Of course you need the drill as well.

Some of the cheaper drill pumps aren't worth the money--I had one when I first setup the SW tank, and it lasted for about 3 months before dying. So, get a decent one, if you think it's the way to go.

Its so much easier to just pay like an extra $5 and get a python. Probably cost you more in gas money to go to the store, especially if they do not have cartain parts.
