I like to put the flakes near the bottom of the tank for my bottom feeders, so the whole hand and arm gotta go in (large tank is 20 inches tall)! :dive:
Before our blue crayfish escaped and passed on we used two large diameter straws to drop food directly into his home. Worked fabulously without giving you icky sticky wet fishy food hands. Should work for other food too.
You know, I thought that someone had seriously been dooped by a LFS thats selling baby platys as "dwarf platys" but I saw them for myself. They actually exist lol. We actually sell them at the Petsmart that I work at. I didn't even know they were in there until I had to remove every last one of the tank ornaments and bleach them...not fun... :thud:
Anyhooo, when I had my ADF's I would use a little vial from an old wardley's ph test and fill it with aquarium water and then drop a chunk of frozen bloodworms in it and let it melt. Once it was thoroughly melted, I would put my thumb over the top and lower it to the bottom of the tank, once there I would turn it over, uncover the opening and gently shake the vial to release the b-worms onto the gravel. It work everytime. I made sure to release the worms in the same spot (a large flat rock in the front of the tank) at every feeding, and they soon learned to go there at feedings times.
BTW UncaBret, what does doink mean? I relate the word doink to the show Law and Order....you know, the "doink, doink"
