Was wondering if anyone order Ebay killifish eggs from Tailand and had them sent to the U.S? I wonder if they would make it through customs or what the legality of it is?
thanks

I am not sure but I will BUMP this thread to the top for you so someone who does know will have a better chance of seeing it. I think the moderator msjinkzd might know. Try asking her.

Never have, but if you do be sure to post on how it works out. I'm sure other would like to try...

Yeah, I see the Thai sellers dominating the listings at ebay and aquabid. I'd love to order something from them, but I'm hesitant it'll just be a waste. And, it will likely be some number of months -- long after there's any recourse through ebay, paypal, or aquabid before you'll know for sure whether you got what you were paying for. I say that because there's no telling how long it'll take for the eggs to arrive, if they arrive, and then most of what they're selling are the annuals with long incubation times.

But if you do try it out, and it works, definitely feel free to let me/us know. I'd be interested in finding out. The seller(s) have some great stuff at unbelievable prices -- I guess it seems too good to be true. That's what makes me hesitant. But again, sometimes you do find good deals in life.

I think the eggs are priced pretty fair (not great) but as pointed out earlier, you do have to invest a lot of time into some of these eggs as they have a long incubation period...

If it were a scam the sellers feedback would show that on ebay...

I've bought fish (bettas) from thailand before. They usually ship every two weeks in bulk to save money on shipping costs. That's why they can charge some extremely low shipping like $5. Generally the fish are delivered to a port near a transshipper of your choosing. The transshipper pays the import/customs fees, repackages the fish, and ships them off to their final destination. All in all, if I remember correctly, the process takes somewhere between 2-3 weeks depending on when the seller ships (the actual time the fish are in transit is actually only a couple of days, however). I'm not sure how the process would differ for eggs, but I presume it's somewhat similar.

I'd assume that for eggs the shipping would be cheap and slow, as it sounds to me like these are annual killi eggs.

Yeah, Im hesitant to because the same reasons but they are some sweet looking fish though.
Im sure if u did get some to hatch u would have plenty of eggs the killi's i had before spawned every day
