EBJD health problems - AGAIN!

ME TOO!! Has he eaten anything yet?
 
He's swimming around a little, which is a good sign, but I haven't seen him eat anything yet. Using the melafix now also. A couple days and I'll do a big water change. We'll see...
 
Thats a good sign.. Keep trying.. u can also try adding some salt... as I noticed that it helped a bit..... however keep good aeration... Keep me posted. After my loss of 4 EBJDS I dont want anyone to lose theirs and will keep trying to gather as much info to see what seems to be the best course of treatment for them...

Thats a great thought! YES, one thing about when I moved mine to the new tank. I have have 2 powerheads. The other tank had one on one side and the airstone airpump on the other side of the undergravel. You can bet I have a lot better airflow now.

I still have 5 fish left out of 7. The one that just started eating again is still at 2 inch and the others are at 2 1/2.
 
I spoke too soon. When I came home today, Big Blue was dead. So... One left. We'll see how that one makes out. Either way, I won't be investing in another ebjd. Thanks for the concern and advice, guys; just wasn't meant to be, I guess.
 
sorry to hear about the trouble and eventual loss of your fish.
but it does open up a few questions about the EBJD
 
Thats a bummer. Sorry for your loss man. It sucks... especially because yours was 5". From what I have read they are more prone to internal parasite when they are about 2" - 3". I just dont understand.... As far as I see once they fall sick... its very hard to get them back to be normal.... some have had success..... may be we should start a thread just for the EBJD health and treatment and keep updating the first post as more people contribute.....

I was hoping my theard on them being worthless would be the thread with everyones feedback. I should have found a better name for it I guess.
