Hi, I'm going to be setting up an Eclipse 6 on my desk at work later this month and have a question. Can anyone recommend a supplemental filter for these? I've been looking into the Penguin Mini or a Hagen Elite Stingray. I'd like to keep a few white clouds and a few cories in it and I prefer my tanks to be overkill on filtration. Can anyone recommend a good secondary?

Both Whisper and Elite Hush filters are great. I have used them both and IMHO, Elite Hush is better. It has dual output so that BOTH sides of the tank get fresh filtered water.

The Whisper pumps 90 GPH and Elite Hush pumps 87 GPH. They both have a flow control and the Eilte cuts the flow down to 1/3 the certified flow (43.5GPH) when flow control is used, and the Whisper cuts the flow in half (45 GPH) when full flow control is used.

A Whisper that uses Bio-Bags is a good supplement. You can even mature a sponge in another tank and use that instead of the bags. The smallest Whispers (the 3i) use an external air pump which takes up space. The larger ones (10i is the smallest I know of, there might be a 5i) have the pump built in.
I have a penguin mini biowheel on a 5 gallon, the only thing I dont love about it is how loudly the water returns to the tank if the water level is too low. I have modified a piece of nylon pantyhose to slow it down a bit, could have used a piece of foam too. It only bugs me b/c its right next to my bed!

The problem with a different filter is the cover. At work I imagine that you want to keep the tank presentable, which means keeping the cover.
Make sure that the filter that you get will be able to keep the cover.

The larger Whispers are pretty self-contained (i.e. you should be able to put them completely under the cover other than the power chord that comes out).
