I was thinking about upgrading my tank from a 20 gallon long tank to a 29 gallon tank. I want to change my current substrate to eco-complete.

If I have to, I will buy as many bags of eco-complete that I can to fill the 29 gallon, but I'm hoping that it could be mixed with regular black gravel (to save some money). Can someone tell me if this is a good idea? I'm not too familiar with eco-complete, I've read that those that do have it claim that it's a great product for planted aquariums.

Can someone tell me if this product is easy to maintain?

I appreciate anyone's help.

You would need about 3-4 bags of it for your 29g. I used 2 bags in my 20g and it would be nice if I had another, but it is $40 a bag.

I think that you can mix it with other kinds of gravel but it may not look as nice.

In the bag there are bits as small as sand, and bits as big as normal gravel. When cleaning it I find that a lot of the small bits are sucked, so its best to clean it like you would sand.

Sorry if it dosent make sence, my English sucks sometimes. (But hey its a Friday:)

Thanks Kasakato.

I really wanted to mix the regular black gravel at the bottom and the eco-complete on the top. I'm not sure if this is correct, but I was hoping to save a little money.

Geez, 3 to 4 bags? Like I said, if I have to, I'll buy it. Although, I can get the eco-complete for $24.99 in Manhattan, it's still very expensive. I better start saving money super quick.

Don't worry about your English, sounds fine to me. ;)

Happy Friday.

That looks so cool reiverix.

I love the way it looks. I truly don't see any difference at all.

I believe I'm going to go with this decor. :D

Thanks a bunch.
