You would have to buy 4 bags of ordinary gravel to
equal the surface area of this one bag of Eco-Complete™ Planted Aquarium Substrate!
It is Bi-Modal - Bi-Modal grading naturally separates into 2 distinct layers: 1)fine layer on the bottom for root developement, and 2) Coarse layer on top which conveys oxygen and nutrients to the roots. ( I cannot give an exact size of grain for this reason)
Directions:
Use 1-2 pounds per gallon of water (bag is 20 pounds). Simply pour the entire contents of the bag into the aquarium and fill with water - no rinsing required.
