Egg bound Mystery Snail

Those eggs are much larger than I was expecting. Thanks for sharing that video. If she does lay eggs, do you think the pond snails would leave them alone? There are 3 Ramshorn snails in there too.

no probs guys,

as the eggs are layed above the water line the ponds and rams will not eat them. you have to watch for the other apple / mysteries snails as they may knock the clutch off the glass when going for a slide about.
theres a sticky on top of this furom about removing and hatching them if you decide to remove them any way.

I have not had any problems with anything eating the eggs. I usually remove the clutch after about 24 hours to incubate. I use a different method from the sticky. Let me know if you need more details :)

YES! Details needed. I have eggs!

I use a very small tupperware container. I take a paper towel and fold it to fit in the bottom then make it barely moist. I then layer 3 more DRY paper towels on top of those folded the same way. Then I place the clutch on top of those and cover it tightly with the lid. I then float this in the tank under the lights. Every day I open the tupperware and remove any condensation and replace the dry towels if they are damp. After about 10 days, the clutches will get a "moldy" appearance if they are viable. At this point, they can be floated over a breeder, or in a tank. I typically open them at this point and dump out the baby snails.

Do you think I'm better off floating a container with the eggs in the 3 gallon or removing the 3 adults from the 6 gallon and putting them in the 3 gallon? I'll have my 20 gallon up and running sometime next week.

So from what I'm reading if I left the eggs where they are at there is too much moisture?
