I just got done loosing a bunch of fish to ICK and now I have noticed that one of my Angel's has laid eggs Momma and Daddy are taking very good care of them and are very protective however, I am not sure what to do, am I supposed to leave them alone, or move Momma, Daddy and eggs to another tank and how do I do that without damaging the eggs. I really didn't expect this. Any suggestions on books that could help me. I am really excited and want to do the right thing here.

thanks for any help.

Most angels are decent parents, but it sometimes takes them a try or two to get it right. I'm pretty sure that most people leave the parents in with the eggs, and let them care for the fry.

Moving this to Cichlids--more people will be able to respond. OG

Are there any fish left besides the Angels?

If it were me, I would leave them as they are..... but I just prefer that the parents raise them over interfering and hatching the eggs yourself outside of the tank unless absolutely necessary. You'll want to watch them during the next couple of days and don't be surprised if they eat these eggs. If they are young angels, they usually eat the first couple of batches. If after the first couple of batches, you want to take on the role of hatching them yourself, that's a different story but the parents should always remain in the place they feel most comfortable...which is obvioulsy the main tank....... The parents will be very sensitive to other tank mates as well as the traffic around outside of the tank during this time so try to keep things as inactive around the tank as possible. If they do however go the whole way of hatching them, congrats!! :D
If you feel that the parents will eat the eggs of every batch after a couple down the road, you'll only need to remove the eggs. To do that, you would need to provide a slate positioned in the tank for them to lay the eggs on. After they do, you could simply move the slate to another tank.

good luck :D

Thanks for all the good advise I guess I will have to use it next time. The eggs are gone. Yes there are other fish There are 4 angels, 1 zebra, 1 red swordtail and 1 pleco. Now that I am finding out what to do I will be able to save the next ones. They are young so I will just keep trying.
Thanks again for all the help.
