Eggshell as calcium source????

I'd think cuttle bone would work nicely, plenty of calcium, not too dense, easily powdered if need be, by the time they wash ashore they're ussually nice and clean. Only thing that might be of concern depending on your setup is they're ussually pretty waterlogged by the time they wash ashore. Along with the cuttle you would be adding various ocean salts to your aquarium, though I doubt the amount of cuttle bone you'd be adding would be high enough to be particularly problematic.

I put a small piece of cuttlebone in my tank when I noticed the snails' shells beginning to crack. It seemed to do the trick. No more cracks and the cuttlebone stays clean. It just gets mysteriously smaller and smaller, then I throw in a new piece.
