Hi all, I woke this morning to a large pool of water on the floor under and around the tank stand :(.

The cannister filter is Eheim 2026 prof II. I stripped and cleaned checked all O'rings, had to replace the main O'ring around the impeller head.

main gasket is fine. I took the outlet out of the impeller head to check that also, no positives came from that, everything that should have had lube on, has been lubed. So the service is complete for this half year.

It is leaking a substantial amount of water so I can't even leave the cannister in a 5 gal bucket as it would be full within hours :(.

I've checked the hose fitting to the cannister, I just can't figure out where the water is coming from, it fills up in the empty cavities in the head unit then spills out over the floor.

any suggestions will be welcome as the fishies haven't had proper filtration all day :( I have short spurts where I run it then empty the water out of the head unit... not a good situation.

thanks

Stewart

is it still under warranty? (you get 3 years.. call them out on it.)

in the meantime, drop your media into the tank or a different filter.

Ah, Eheims. Overrated they are.

I'd just get a new filter going as soon as possible, and hopefully get the old media from the Eheim into it as well, so the cycle doesn't cut.

And definately make a call to Eheim and demand they back their overpriced products.

It's the least they can do a for frustrated aquarist. Good luck, I hope all turns out well for you and there are no losses as a result of the malfunction.

Did that include the o-ring around the moveable pump head (prime feature)?

Where is the water coming out? At the union of the pump head to the cannister? Or is it pooling inside the pump head and coming over the sides?

Empty it. Take all the media out. Close it. Get a 5gal bucket fill it with water. Now submerge the unit (that is if its waterproof on the outside as well, i'm assuming it is for the Eheim Pro's as well i dunno). Where you see bubbles coming out is where its leaking from
