I was surfing ebay and found some eheim filters and wanted to see what everyone thought. First off there is a guy that is selling the 2028 for 199 a piece, is that the best price anyone will be able to find on something like that. Secondly there is a guy selling three used 2028's and he says they are only 3 years old and the price hasn't even broken 30.00 bucks yet. My question there is, will a 3 year old eheim still be as dependable as it is was when it was first used. What do you guys think.

Thanks

i've got 4 Eheim 2028 cannisters that have been running for going on 8 years now. haven't relaced a single part. still quiet. one of the best filters out there and $199 is a bargain.

Big Al's has the 2028 with media and upgraded intake and spraybar sets for $249. It also has the standard intake and spraybar if you don't want to use the upgraded versions. I got this a couple months ago and am really happy.

You never really know what you're getting with a used unit, but chances are it would work fine. The 2028s hold a huge amount of media.
