I have a smaller 2213, and it is silent, and the disconnects are awesome. I'd buy another in a heart beat.

2. I think the installation kits do make priming easier. You can unscrew the cap at the eblow at the top of the tank, put in a funnel, and pour water in that way to make the priming easier. Eheim even sells a funnel for this, but of course you can find another one that would work as well.
